We have had a wonderful time at Poet’s Cottage. The cottage is delightful. The three double rooms meant that both my husband and I and my two daughters with their partners all fitted in easily.

The cottage is an excellent base for visits to the surrounding area. We’ve visited Caernarvon, Conwy, Snowdon, Llanberis, the Sygun Copper Mill and lots of other places. The weather has been ideal for walking and visiting the various castles and towns.

We also visited the Woollen Mill. Having visited Trefriw several times in the past, when camping at Shell Island or at Lyn Crafnant with the scouts, it was lovely to see that nothing had changed and the welcome was as friendly as always.

We too found the cottage had everything we needed – the shower is fantastic!

We enjoyed playing ‘fridge Tetris’ to fit everything in but for the 6 of us it was fine and wasn’t a problem. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook a wide variety of meals.

Michaela has been wonderful. She has been really helpful. Finding the tea, coffee, milk and bread was a thoughtful surprise and meant we didn’t need to rush out and shop.

The butcher is great. Lots of choice and good ideas for what to cook. We tried both the lamb and chicken stir frys, they were delicious.

Many thanks for everything. The cottage is wonderful and we hope to book again in the future.

We have had a good week here, using the cottage as a base and visiting a wide area. The weather has been great and we have thoroughly enjoyed North Wales.

We ate at The Ship and the Fairy Falls and found The Ship to be friendly and excellent food. We returned several times! The Fairy was not good at all in our opinion. The butchers is great.

We loved Anglesey (Newborough beach worth a visit), Llandudno especially Great Orme. The children enjoyed the treetop edventure near Betys-Y-Coed and the Whitewater Rafting centre near Bala. Conwy is a lovely place to visit, we preferred it to Caernarfon. The Slate Museum at Llanberis is worth a look too.

We found the cottage had everything we needed.

The Newrick’s

We have had a brilliant stay at Poet’s Cottage. We used the cottage as a base to travel far and wide – Llandudno, Anglesey and, of course, the mountains. It was an excellent base.

Michaela was very friendly and helpful – thank you very much.

The bread and provisions were a welcome touch – again, thank you.

Our view of Poet’s Cottage is overwhelmingly positive.

We certainly would like to visit again.

The Zietara-Nicholls Family

We had a lovely stay at Poet’s Cottage. 4 adults and 4 dogs and plenty of space for us all.

We were a little unsure of what to expect around the area but were surprised to find a 15 minute drive takes you to anywhere you need to be – lovely beaches, small towns to walk around and lovely places to eat. We particularly liked Llandudno for the town and beaches and Betws-Y-Coed for the walk and restaurants.

By the cottage there is also some lovely pubs/restaurants if you want something in walking distance (we preferred Fairy Falls to The Ship for food and friendliness).

There was also a lovely walk around the lake (opposite Fairy Falls and up the hill) – the drive is narrow and we thought we had taken a wrong turn but once you find the car park you know where you are – nice cafe there too.

Great time had by all.

The Ship Inn serves very good food – better for meat eaters – more choice. Worth paying the extra (other people have written that Fairy Falls is better priced) as you can sit outside next to the stream looking at fields . . . Nice Welsh beer at The Ship Inn too.

The two lakes walk from the village was excellent – nice tearoom at Llyn Crafnant to make the walk even more pleasant.

Also, the walk along the old road past the caravan park to Llanrwst was good for the dogs.

Don’t forget to try the built-in radio in the bathroom!

Enjoy your week.

Two village pubs both very good, The Fairy Falls probably more keenly priced for food. Village butcher very friendly and helpful – own produce excellent, including pies, sausage rolls and pasties!

Village cafe well worth a visit – especially for breakfast!

Trefriw is a hidden gem and Poet’s Cottage a real find!

Thanks for your friendly welcome.

Have just spent a wonderful week at Poet’s Cottage, which was fab. The cottage had everything that we needed and more.

The walks around here are great. Would highly recommend The Fairy Falls hotel for food, plus the little butchers across the road.

Can’t wait to come back next year.

Poet’s Cottage more than met our requirements. We were here to walk the hills and this is an ideal base.

Finding bread, milk, butter, tea and coffee was a surprise and a very generous extra.

We enjoyed our stay very much.
